Your Walk is Your Walk

Let's just keep it real for a second - being a Christian is hard at times.

Don't be shy, you know where I'm coming from....

Especially when we are looking all around us, seeing "Super Christians." You know who I'm talking about. That guy at church who always looks super excited to be there. That woman who always flawlessly says the prayer at public events. That girl you go to school with who has a perfect Scripture reference for everything.

To us, these people are amazing because it seems like they have it all together. They are completely in love with Christ and sold all the way out. They know just what to say and seem to be so connected to the Holy Spirit. And they have a solid prayer life, along with a disciplined study schedule. They're the Christians we want to be.

First off, we have to keep everything in context. We don't know what these people went through or are going through to get to their current position. Everybody has a different struggle, a different story, and a different path to Christ.

Secondly, NEVER EVER compare your walk to someone else's! God designed us to be in His image, but we are not all the same! We all come from different walks of life and have different personalities and struggles. You may not be able to overcome something as easily as another person, and that's okay. Your stuggle is your struggle, your life is your life, and your walk is your walk. As long as you are walking with Jesus, the rest doesn't matter. Keep your eyes focused on Him and you'll be where you wanna be in no time!

And, who knows, those people that you envy so much may actually be envious of you!

So I just want to encourage you today to embrace your individual walk and relationship with Christ. There should be no comparison. Inspiration, perhaps, but no comparison.

Own it, live it, and love it! God made you this way for a reason!

If you'd like to nominate someone for the "Faith Features" series or share something (Bible verse, a song, or a message...anything!) that God has put on your heart or have a question or comment you would like to share, you're more than welcome! If you're interested in writing a post for "Weekly Blessings," offering up a topic suggestion, get in touch with me via FacebookTwitter, or Email; you can also simply comment below and I'll make sure to get back with you!
