Good morning, loves! Sorry I've been gone so long!! I had to regroup for a minute.

For the past few weeks I've been thinking about submission. Whether it be in relationships. Friendships, partnerships, whatever. Submission is one of the keys to success in any relationship we may enter into!

However, there are some people out there who feel like it is purely one person's (specifically a woman's) job to be submissive, which is totally false. But that's not the point I'm making here..

But God told me something else that wound up being a remarkable point that I had never thought of:

"If submission were just one-sided, Jesus would have never died for us on the cross."
That's what The Lord said to me! Isn't that rich!

First what it mean to be submissive? Well according to dictionary.com:
1.inclined or ready to submit or yield to the authority of another; unresistingly or humbly obedient:
submissive servants.

2. marked by or indicating submission or an instance of yielding to the authority of another:
Doesn't that sound a lot like what Jesus did? Jesus humbled himself and yielded to the way of the world just to save us. And in return he asks that we submit to God and yield to his ways for our lives.
He first submitted so we could see how it's done!

Just look at the scripture - He makes that point plain as day:

“Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." - Matthew 18:3-4

"I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship." - Roman's 12:1
"Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." - Philippians 2:3-11

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16

If those scriptures don't summarize my point for you, I really don't know what will!
Basically, keep in mind that submission is a two-way street. In order to be submitted to,you have to submit. And if God Himself had to do it, don't think for a second that we are immune to it.

God bless. Have a great week!
